I have been a professional orchestra, opera and pops conductor for 25 years.  I  am currently the Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Swiss National Orchestra and the  Principal Conductor of the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra. Most recently, I was the Principal Guest Conductor of the City of Kyoto Symphony Orchestra.   I have conducted over 185 orchestras worldwide, over 65 world premieres, more than 35 operas, and the majority of available film scores.  As a student of Leonard Bernstein, Jorma Panula, Ilya Musin and Christoph Eschenbach, I have benefitted from some of the best conducting teachers in the world.  

Let me share this wisdom and experience with you. 

Bernstein said there is no more noble act than teaching. That's why I share my lessons learned and experience gained.   Having been a Music Director and Principal Guest Conductor around the world, I am also  aware of the demands and challenges of a conducting profession beyond the music, whether it be management, tax assistance, legal help, travel planning and residency.
